Professional Drywall Repair Services Across Dallas-Fort Worth
Around here plenty of people still ask for sheetrock repair, and it's the same job. Either way, the damage comes from a short list of places: a door without a stopper, a leak that dried out months ago, the plumber who had to get behind the wall, or just a house settling over a few Texas summers.
Drywall Repair and Finishing Services
HouseBench provides drywall repair and finishing services for homeowners and property managers across Dallas-Fort Worth.

Drywall patching and hole repair
Nail holes, doorknob holes, and the bigger openings that need a fresh piece of board. Access holes left by other trades too.

Ceiling drywall repair
Cracks, holes and loose seams overhead. If there's a water stain up there, we'll want to know the leak is fixed before anyone touches it.

Drywall finishing and texture repair
Taping, mudding, sanding. Honestly, this is the part that decides whether anyone can find the patch later.

Drywall repair and painting
When it's included in the project, we prime and paint too, so you aren't left staring at a pale square.
Why choose HouseBench for drywall repair?
A lot of drywall contractors won't come out for one hole behind a bedroom door. We're glad to, and a two-inch patch is sanded and primed like any bigger job.
Background-checked and vetted pros
You're letting someone into your house, sometimes into a kid's bedroom. So every pro passes a background check and our own vetting first.
Available 24/7
Request service at any hour, any day, including the Sunday night you finally notice what the doorknob did.
30-day workmanship warranty
Eligible completed work is covered for 30 days, and if something isn't right, we'd rather hear about it than have you live with it.
Clear estimates
You'll know the scope and expected cost before work begins. Good photos make that estimate a lot more accurate, which is why we keep asking for them.

Most of it, on walls and ceilings, from a single nail hole up to sections that need new board. If you're not sure yours qualifies, send a photo and ask.
It depends on how big the damage is, how many spots need work, whether it's on a ceiling, and whether texture or paint is included. Two nail pops and a doorknob hole is a very different job from a water-stained ceiling. Send photos and you'll get a free estimate before anything is booked. If you've got several small repairs, put them in one request, since much of the time on a drywall job goes into setup and drying rather than the patch itself.
A small patch can be finished in one visit. Larger repairs need several coats of compound, each dry before the next goes on, so they can stretch across two visits. Texture and paint add time on top of that.
They can, and it's routine work. The damaged area is cut back to a clean rectangle, a new piece of drywall is fastened in, and the seams are taped and finished like any other joint.
Press on it. If the board is firm and the damage is contained, repair it. If it gives under your thumb, crumbles or sags, that section should be replaced, and the same goes when patching would cover most of the wall anyway.
Once the leak is fixed and everything has dried out, yes. Stained drywall that's still solid gets a stain-blocking primer first, because regular paint lets water marks bleed right back through. Anything soft gets cut out, as above. And if you notice a musty smell or any mold, mention it when you send photos, since that changes the job.
As closely as the surface allows. Orange peel and knockdown, which you'll find in a lot of DFW homes, blend well once painted. Older or heavily repainted texture is harder to copy exactly, and we'll tell you up front if a patch might still show a little. If you have a popcorn ceiling in a home built before the mid-1980s, get it tested for asbestos before anyone scrapes or sands it.
Yes, when painting is part of your project. The patch gets primed first; skip that and fresh compound soaks up paint and shows as a dull spot. If you have leftover paint from the room, keep the can handy. Touch-up paint on a wall that's a few years old tends to stand out, so painting the whole wall corner to corner usually looks better.
